Horror unfolded at a school in the Philippines last month when one student was killed and many others injured after a teen gunman opened fire. The shooter, identified as 15-year-old Mohammad Mael Jalani, snuck a .45-calibre pistol and a high-powered rifle into Ateneo de Zamboanga University in Zamboanga City, in southern Philippines, on 18 August. It was the country’s second school shooting in less than two months. But what made this one even more shocking was that the attacks were live-streamed by the shooter on social media. Chaotic scenes were captured in the bodycam footage, with students fleeing the building, while gunshots were heard in the background. …
