A new court filing has sharpened Apple’s trade secret fight with OpenAI, adding a forensic trail to allegations centered on files retained by a former employee. Apple says Chang Liu, a senior system electrical engineer who left for OpenAI in January, later accessed a confidential power-converter schematic and used related material at his new employer. The filing does not establish that any trade secret was stolen or incorporated into an OpenAI product. Those claims remain contested, and the court has not ruled on their merits.
