Tesla has formally launched the Cybercab, the two-seat electric robotaxi designed without a steering wheel or pedals. The Austin event marks the transition from an unveiled concept to a production vehicle being prepared for Tesla’s existing Robotaxi network. The launch comes nearly two years after the Cybercab first appeared publicly. Tesla has spent the intervening period building pilot vehicles, expanding driverless Model Y rides and preparing the manufacturing systems needed for a dedicated autonomous fleet.
