Apple’s retail stores could soon offer a much more prominent glimpse of the company’s ambitions for the connected home. The Avenues — the wall-mounted display areas found around the perimeter of many newer Apple Store locations — are reportedly being reorganized this fall, with additional bays expected to create more space for home products and accessories. The changes arrive as Apple is widely expected to refresh Apple TV and HomePod mini, while reports continue to point toward an entirely new category of smart- home hardware. On their own, updated versions of Apple TV and HomePod mini would hardly require a major rethink of the retail floor.
