So popular that #fibermaxxing, a trend where peo- ple are actually consuming their daily recom- mended amount of the nutrient, is now a thing. Dietitians are rejoicing because they’ve long been singing the praises of fiber’s gut-filling, weight-managing, heart-health-ifying (and, okay, poop-regulating) benefits. Consider that last year, a study review found that higher fiber intake was linked to a decreased risk of 29 con- ditions, including cardiovascular disease and certain cancers. Twenty-nine.
