I’ve never been one for birthdays. Maybe it was my early-onset body hair, but I’ve always felt threatened by the passage of time. To be clear, a 33-year-old stressing about wrin- kles and what he’ll look like in retirement is beyond foolish. For one, my student loans and the current trajectory of the economy suggest retirement to be as unlikely as my weekly eight-leg parlays are to ever hit. Aging is also, of course, natural and inevitable. But during the past year, I’ve tried every new cream, serum, cleanser, shaver, and device I could get my hands on for our 2026 Grooming Awards (page 25). …
