Uber is placing a major new bet on delivery by air. The company is investing in autonomous drone operator Zipline and plans to bring its aircraft directly into Uber Eats, beginning with service in Dallas and Houston before the end of 2026. The partnership carries an exceptionally large target: as many as one million Uber Eats drone deliveries every day by the end of 2029. From the first two Texas markets, the companies intend to expand into dozens of U.S. cities. Financial terms of Uber’s investment have not been disclosed.
