Gemini is moving from a limited mobile rollout to a standard part of Chrome on Android in the United States. Google has opened its built-in browsing assistant to all eligible Android phone owners in the country, removing the earlier restriction to selected devices and staged groups. The expansion places an AI panel directly inside the browser. It can read the page currently displayed, answer questions about its contents and condense a long article without requiring a trip to the separate Gemini app. The panel opens from the Gemini icon in Chrome’s toolbar and occupies the lower portion of the screen, leaving the original page visible above it.
