In a sign of the times, AMD just reset when it traditionally launches a new core architecture. Since Zen 1, AMD has always announced consumer parts first for a new Zen architecture months before unveiling its server-bound Epyc-branded counterparts. Zen 6, however, is the first time AMD has flipped the script and announced new Epyc parts based on a new architecture before client products.
