Every character begins long before clay touches my hands. Some begin with a face glimpsed for only a moment in a crowded street. Others emerge from fragments of memory, a line from an old story, the texture of a weathered coat, or the feeling a place leaves behind. For as long as I can remember, I have been collecting these small impressions and transforming them into stories. Long before I discovered sculpture, I was already building worlds in notebooks, filling pages with drawings, poems, and imaginary lives. I grew up close to nature, in a small, picturesque Ukrainian town where our family home stood among gardens and open skies. Nature was everywhere, and so was the freedom to dream. …
