Staffers complain that Salk allowed circadian rhythms researcher Satchidananda Panda to depart quietly, while the allegations and findings remain under wraps SARA REARDON Satchidananda Panda, a prominent biologist known for his work on circadian rhythms, light sensing, and intermittent fasting, will resign next month after 22 years at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. His planned departure, which has not been officially announced outside of Salk, comes after the institute contracted an employment law firm to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct by Panda. Panda denies the allegations, which were made earlier this year. Panda has not been on campus for several weeks. …
