Antarctica’s doomsday glacier Thwaites glacier is collapsing, with huge consequences for the future of our planet, finds Alison George T HE fates of coastal cities worldwide, from New York to Manila, depend on a vast but little-understood glacier that is losing ice alarmingly quickly. “What happens in Antarctica does not stay in Antarctica.
