IT SEEMS THAT virtually every Marvel TV show is trumpeted as something new, a world away from your run-of-the-mill MCU offering. Wonder Man, however, genuinely seems to be pushing the needle further. Its star, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, has even been doing early press appearances in character. “We’re doing something that, tonally, feels much different than really any other Marvel show, or any other films,” he promises Empire. “We’re doing something that’s fresh, and a bit tongue-in-cheek, a bit self-aware.” Of course, he would say that.
