这篇讲什么
本文通过功能性磁共振成像和多区域电生理记录,研究了猕猴面部表情(威胁、咂唇、咀嚼)的皮层控制机制,发现多个皮层区域以动态和稳定的神经编码参与表情的产生。

Geena R. Ianni1†‡*, Yuriria Vázquez1†§¶, Adam G. Rouse2, Marc H. Schieber3, Yifat Prut4*#, Winrich A. Freiwald1,5*# Faces are central to primate lives. Their visual appearance reveals a wide range of information, some through structural properties, such as age or identity, and some through dynamic properties, such as movement. Facial movements constitute a fundamental class of social communication signals in primates (1). Modern cognitive frameworks cast their role as predictive signals (2): Nonvocal gestures can instantly convey internal affective states (3), the valence of external stimuli, and even social rank, intention, or receptivity to future interactions (4). Recent years have seen major advances in understanding the neural mechanisms for visual face perception (5). …
