It’s been nearly three decades since the execution of Florida’s ‘Black Widow’ Judy Buenoano. In the mid-1980s, Buenoano was found guilty of the deaths of her husband, her boyfriend and her son, as well as the attempted murder of another partner for money. She is thought to have amassed around $240,000 in insurance payouts from their deaths. ‘She’s like a black widow – she feeds off her mates and her young,’ said prosecutor Russell Edgar. However, her grandson Alex Hawkins disagreed. ‘She was a good Catholic woman who had never done anything wrong until she was arrested. She was a victim of circumstances,’ he said. …
