ayveon Lathrop, 22, was arrested for murder back in early 2024, but it was only in late December 2025 that a Rock County Circuit Court judge determined he is now mentally fit to face prosecution. The ruling followed months of psychiatric evaluations and legal delays that had stalled proceedings for almost two years, with the latest hearing Lathrop’s third. Earlier in the year, he had been found not competent, resulting in court-ordered mental health treatment and repeated adjournments.
