With tech giants on a mission to create smaller, faster, and more efficient semiconductors, the industry has long faced a fundamental constraint: the laws of physics. Traditional scaling has been approaching hard limits, but IBM Research has announced a breakthrough that challenges those boundaries and could unlock a whole new generation of chip physics.
