Mitotic chromosome size and shape are influenced by conditions that control ionic hydrogels William Gelbart A s biologist and Nobel laureate Francois Jacob famously observed, “The dream of every cell is to become two cells.” And because the cell is the indivisible unit of all living things, this dream can arguably be considered the driving force for life.
