A history of the effects of illness on individual lives and collective beliefs is a very mixed bag, says Peter Hoskin IT MAY be perverse to say it, but this is a fine time to publish a book about the history of sickness. We are currently spluttering through a particularly virulent winter in the northern hemisphere.
