Hindawi le August 2025, a paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) provided a detailed analysis of the growing problem of large networks of individuals and entities cooperating for financial gain and career advance- ment to contaminate the scientific literature with fraudulent research (Richardson et al. 2025).
