For more than twenty years, I kept a signed postcard of Jane Good- all affixed to the bulletin board behind my classroom desk as a daily reminder to me and my students that scientific greatness begins with obser- vation and intellectual humility. The postcard pictured the iconic Jane Good- all sitting next to Freud, a chimpanzee.
