She loved the practice, but she noticed a problem: Pilates studios were not inclusive. “I had clients who didn’t feel comfortable in the studio,” she says. “They felt like they didn’t belong.” A high school volleyball and softball player, Leaf was referred to Pilates after a back injury in physical therapy. “She had a full-blown condition that we now call ‘Pilates body,’” Leaf says. …
