Poet and author Stephen Lightbown's book My Dad Can is the story of a young girl who learns that her dad's wheelchair doesn't define what he can or can't do. It's loosely based on a poem Stephen wrote years before he became a parent. We spoke to him about wheelchair-using parents, stigma and poetry “My son is probably the first person I've met who doesn't have any association or attach stigma to my chair. I'm just his dad.” What's your background? “I had a spinal cord injury 30 years ago when I was 16.
