When I'd gotten about halfway through The Ghost Lab by Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling, I was ready to write a scathing review along the lines of “this is the worst skeptical book I have ever read.” For one thing, the subtitle, “How Bigfoot Hunters, Mediums and Alien Enthusiasts Are Wrecking Science,” is misleading. The book does not show how these things are doing any real “wreckage of science.” Second, I found the first half of the book very tedious, to the extent that it was hard to read more than a couple dozen pages without putting it aside to do something else.
