原文开头
A young space infrastructure company, Starcloud, is building an orbital data network designed to process and transmit information directly from space, integrating laser communication technology developed by SpaceX. The plan centers on deploying a constellation of satellites equipped with Starlink Mini Laser systems, enabling high- speed data transfer between orbit and ground-based clients. The approach reflects a growing interest in moving parts of computing infrastructure beyond Earth, particularly as demand for data processing continues to rise alongside artificial intelligence workloads. A NETWORK BUILT IN ORBIT Starcloud’s proposal involves a fleet of 25 satellites functioning as distributed data centers. Instead of relying entirely on terrestrial facilities, the company aims to process certain workloads in orbit and transmit results back to Earth. …
