Leaked plans suggested that Immigration and Customs Enforcement was looking to turn warehouses across the US into massive immigration deten- tion centers. One of the largest was planned for Tremont, Pennsylvania, a tiny rural township in Schuylkill County (pronounced “SKOO-kil”), about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Residents peppered officials with questions during Schuylkill County Commissioners meetings. What infor- mation did they have? How did they plan to respond?
