In the early hours of a June morning in 2024, flames took hold of a mobile home on Visalia Court in Stockton, California. Inside, a devoted mother and her two young sons were fast asleep and unaware of the danger unfolding around them. By the time firefighters had extinguished the blaze, Lisbeth Gutierrez-Salazar, 32, and her boys – Julian Cardona-Gutierrez, 10, and Juan Gutierrez-Salazar, seven – were dead. The only survivor was Lisbeth’s 14-year-old son Max.
