Brady Harmon had been counting down the days until he was reunited with the four children he had not physically seen since 9 June. The children were homeschooled, so didn’t need to be in the same building. But when police did a welfare check at 6pm, all hopes of finally becoming a solid family unit ended when police informed him they were all dead. Authorities had been called to an apartment complex in Mechanicville, New York, after a relative raised the alarm. They had not seen Amy Steadman, 64, her daughter Sarah, 44, or Sarah’s four children, Hudson, 11, and 10-year-old twins Gavin and Gracelynn, for an extended period.
