Kroger plans to eliminate approximately 3,000 corporate positions over the next three years, a restructuring that would remove roughly 37% of its corporate workforce as the supermarket operator expands its use of artificial intelligence and seeks to simplify its business. The plan was outlined in an October 12 memo from CEO Greg Foran, first reported by Bloomberg. Kroger subsequently confirmed the reductions to industry publication Progressive Grocer.
