Visitors who are blind or have low vision can now explore selected masterpieces at Milan’s Pinacoteca di Brera using smart glasses that deliver audio descriptions and connect them with additional assistance. Launched on October 13, “Sensing Art” brings wearable technology into a museum experience designed around listening, conversation and greater independence. The trial is a collaboration between the museum, Meta and EssilorLuxottica, alongside Italian organizations representing and supporting people with visual impairments. It uses Ray-Ban Meta glasses to make cultural information easier to access while visitors move through the galleries.
