A long- standing, but largely untested, hypothesis proposes that climate change systematically alters the pace of river planform morphodynamics. The upper high Himalayas, where temperatures are rising nearly twice as fast as the global average, offer a critical natural laboratory to detect climatic imprints within upland rivers that sustain billions of people downstream. …
