Scientists analyzing material returned from the asteroid Ryugu have identified all the essential chemical building blocks required to form DNA and RNA — the molecular foundations of life on Earth. The findings add weight to the idea that the ingredients necessary for life may be widespread throughout the solar system, rather than rare anomalies confined to our planet.
