On 24 November 2023, Melanie Camacho left her job at Auto Zone for the day and walked to her white Nissan Altima. It was late, but she was going to meet a friend. At least that’s what her mother believed when she received what would be her daughter’s final text at 11pm that night. Around 30 minutes earlier, CCTV footage captured Melanie’s car driving northbound on the local highway in Madera, California. The footage is the last recorded sighting of Melanie alive. When Melanie didn’t arrive home that evening, her mother became increasingly worried, calling her daughter’s phone and attempting to identify Melanie’s location using phone tracking devices with no success. …
