KINSHIP HAS LONG been a staple in animation, from Toy Story to Big Hero 6. In Forgotten Island, however, we see this dynamic like never before. The ’90s-set story — which received a lot of love when a work-in-progress cut was screened at this year’s CinemaCon — follows childhood pals Jo (H.E.R.) and Raissa (Liza Soberano). Their bond is threatened when the latter must move from their native Philippines to the States.
